U.S. Senator introduces major privacy legislation [Medium]

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand [D-NY] has introduced new legislation to create a Data Protection Agency for the United States. Citing data breaches, privacy invasions on the side of major tech companies, and overall lack of control on the user side, the Data Protection Agency would give citizen more agency over their data while also providing tech opportunities for the US.
