Portland is raising the stakes on a Facial recognition Ban [FAST COMPANY]

Portland, Oregon is following the lead of cities such as San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, and Somerville who have banned the use of facial recognition technology by government agencies.

However, they’re expanding the reach of the ban to include private businesses, a huge step forward in stopping the widespread use of the technology. If the proposal passes, it will take effect in Spring 2020.
