Hacker leaks passwords of over 500K IoT devices [Threatpost]

A hacker who is known to maintain a DDoS-for-hire service (a type of hacking attack) published a list of passwords, usernames, and IP addresses of over 500,000 servers, home routers, and IoT devices on a hacking forum.

The hacker took advantage of the fact that many IoT devices are exposed online, usually behind a default username and password which are easy to guess. This also means other hackers may use the default usernames and passwords to get into similar devices if they find them on a network.

Threatpost has more details.
