The FBI’s Internet Crime and Complaint Center (IC3) is a center that receives calls and complaints related to cybercrime (think of it as the 911 for hackers) and has reported that they’ve received as much as 4,000 complaints on a daily basis since the pandemic, compared to around 1,000, on average.

The increase can somewhat be explained by the fact that so many workers have shifted to remote work but have observed that nation state actors (and hackers) are targeting people and organizations with increased fervor, especially those targeting government and health organizations.
