Avast, a widely used anti-virus, sells your data [FORBES]

Avast, an anti-virus company with over 400M users has also been selling users browsing habits data since at least 2013, causing browsers such as Mozilla and Opera from removing their extensions and add-on, designating them as spyware.

Avast has not denied the claim and defends the practice, noting that the data sold cannot be traced to individual users and instead is sold as aggregated data for trends and cohort analysis.
