Major companies are leaking emails to advertisers

Via the New York Times

Companies such as JetBlue, Wish, and most recently, Quibi, were found to be leaking email addresses to a number of partners and advertisers including Google and Facebook. The email addresses are leaked via URL data, occurring after a user clicks a confirmation link.

Some of the companies deny the claim or deny the fact that it’s a breach or a leakā€”and while they may not have been intending to share that much information with their partners, the end result is still that user emails are being shared without consent or notice.
